Recent Additions:
Em:t Records - The 1990's label with legendary releases and beautiful cover art relaunches with a compilation, Em:t 0003. Based out of Nottingham, UK, we have high hopes for Matt Hall and his crew. We included tracks from Brannan Lane, Beatsystem, Chusen & Cugin, Radium 88, Richie Warbuton, and High Skies. Em:t is at http://www.emitrecords.net.
Dr. Toast - The good doctor hails from San Francisco and we added a good deal of the tracks from his third and upcoming release, Oz So Late. We dug it so much, we decided to make this album the debut CD-R release from OEM Releases...see below for more info. At first, I thought that Dr. Toast's tracks were not for folks with Attendion Disorder. But upon a second listening, I realized that Oz So Late may very well be the cure for Attention Disorder. Dr. Toast is at http://www.drtoast.com.
Network19 - Network19 was a find from the sea of netlabel releases. Network19 has released EPs on Cammomile Records. We added one track, Neuroton, which is best described as minimal techno. Tasty and pleasing...Network19 is at http://www.network19.net.
Shulman - When Yaniv Shulman emailed us to say that he'd uploaded three of his tracks, I was really flattered, to say the least. Shulman just released their second full-length, In Search of a Meaningful Moment. Quick description: Imagine the conceptual storytelling of Dark Side of the Moon but done in electronic-dub topped off with a HUGE LOAD OF PSYCHEDELICS. It's almost a shame to listen to Shulman's tracks singularly, so I urge you to check out ...Meaningful Moment, and their first release, Soundscapes and Modern Tales - both of which are available at Ambient Airlines (www.ambientairlines.com) Shulman is at http://www.shulman.info.
The Moontrane Conductors - B.Dob from Eggbeats sent in their debut release. Flowing loungey beats with beautiful instrumentation. Moontrane begins where Kruder and Dorfmeister left off. The Moontrane Conductors are at http://www.eggbeats.com
Beats and Scratches - I had serious doubts when I heard the name of this act. A nasty picture of a guy wearing a basketball jersey with large gold chains with an 808 drum machine and a belt-drive turntable popped into my head. These fears were quickly dispelled when I slid in the CD and heard excellent production skill and original compositions. Only three of the tracks really fit in to the library, sonically, but B&S have many more tracks which you should check out. They also put on one hell of a live show with serious turntable tricks, evidenced by the digitized movies on the CD-ROM they sent. I'm fairly certain their website has downloads of these videos, check them out at http://www.beatsandscratches.com.
CD Releases:
Dr. Toast - Oz So Late. OEM Radio is branching out into OEM Recordings! OEM-R will be putting out a series of limited edition CD-R releases. Our first endeavor is Dr. Toast's Oz So Late. Dr. Toast has crafted 10 tracks with flowing beats, solid grooves, and slow progressions. Sit back in your beanbag chair, fire one up, or just dial out for a moment and let the good Doctor show you his sonic relaxation techniques. Release Date: Late March/Early April, anticipated. Sold via: Ambient Airlines, exclusively. (www.ambientairlines.com) Format: CD-R, 10 tracks, 52 minutes, price to be set.
Kraddy - Truth Has No Path. We've been broadcasting several tracks from this album since OEM Radio debuted. Kraddy's put the final product together and released it on his own Refiner Records. Kraddy's music may fall within the IDM realm, but this album includes a banging breakbeat track (Brecht), dub (Dub17), and several hiphop remix/deconstructions (New World Empire, Faux Show). Kraddy's making some of the most thoughtful and innovative experimental music we've heard in a long time, putting most new IDM releases to shame. Release Date: out now. Sold via: Refiner Records (www.kraddyodaddy.com) Format: CD, 12 tracks, $12.
Coming Soon:
Alex Theory - Mr. Theory's been busy cutting new tracks. He came up for air long enough to send us a new CD with new material and remixes of some of his classic ethno-drum&bass material.
Kush - Etric Lyons is visiting us in San Francisco this weekend, and says he's got some new material for us...More jazz/electronic beauty is surely expected.
More Stuff - There's a ton of new material sitting on our FTP sever that we haven't had time to sort through yet. Odds are there's some gems in there...
